SuSE 7.3 kernel question

Hello, An old issue was brought up to me today and I'd like to bounce if off of you. Back in October (before I started with SuSE, there was apparently an alert sent out (SuSE-SA:2001:036/9) regarding a problem with the kernel in 7.3 with TCP SYN Cookies. It gives a workaround for it as well. I am currently running SuSE certified 2.4.16 kernel and was wanting to verify that the problem was resolved and the workaround is no longer needed. How can I verify this?
