Maybe that is just a link to some postfix program in order to provide a sendmail-like interface...
postfix has a "sendmail compatibility" mode program (see http://www.postfix.org/sendmail.1.html) which replaces the original sendmail binary and which IIRC is just a symlink to one of the progs of the postfix suite (try 'ls -l /usr/sbin/sendmail'), but I haven't got a postfix installation at hand to verify that.
