Just quick note on new vulnerability in kernel with exploit from Security Focus. Testing results: Distribution Kernel Result SuSE 6.1 2.2.19 No success SuSE 6.3 2.2.19 No success SuSE 7.1 2.4.9 No Success
Also on: Debian with 2.2.19 & 2.4.12 no success. Attached - thats all.
Is it something wrong with exploit, or i`m just luckyly picking distros? grrr
Well, the vulnerabilities are present (plus two other issues that are not
public yet...), it just may be a bit hard to trigger them.
We are in the testing stage with the new 2.2 and 2.4 kernels built by
Hubert Mantel. The announcement about them will follow this week.
If you want to test these kernels, have a look at
ftp.suse.com/pub/people/mantel/next/ and compile a kernel on your own.
Thanks,
Roman.
