ACLs with SuSE 8.0 ???

hello list, I think this question is security related... Can I use acl's with SuSE 8.0? The file-utilities exist on my box but when I use setfacl this error occurs: "Operation not supported". Is a kernel patch required? Which filesystems supports acl's? Anybody could help me? Greetings Mario
