There were lots of bug fixes in 4.3.5, particularly relating to multibyte handling, and it looks as if 4.3.8 will be the final and most stable release of 4.x It would hve been nice to have had an update to 4.3.5 if not 4.3.8
as discussed for the umptenth time already, suse never provides updates to never versions. if you want a newer php on your suse box, compile it yourself or wait for the next suse release...
We sometimes do, but not with a dependency chain like this. The only packages that can receive a version upgrade are ones that no other package depends on, and that no useful other fix exists for. Experience shows that we'll be breaking half of the system if we don't keep to that rule.
