Connection to a wireless accesspoint

Hi, I have a netgear wg311 wireless card and want to connect to a wireless firewall ruter. How do I make it under Suse 9.0. Suse tells me that it founds a networkadapter and configurate it as a wireless card. But by typing in the ssid and the wep-key (128 bit encryption) I get no connection to the accesspoint. On which position I've to enter the radiochannel? Regards, Ruprecht
