[opensuse-ruby] Ruby cleanup part 1
There is a lot of old and unused packages in Leap as well as in TW. As leap is close to a release i started the cleanup there. I wrote a script that based on the primaries.xml gave me a list of all rubygem-* packages which are not used by anything. Based on that list I created a bunch of delete requests. You can see the list with this commandline. osc rq list --non-interactive -t delete \ --target-package-filter='rubygem.*' \ openSUSE:Leap:15.0 If you want to keep any of the rubygem-* packages please comment in the request or here. Once we cleaned up Leap 15.0 we will clean up TW. How do you tell if a rubygem RPM is used or not? Is the assumption that they
are only used within the package set in the distribution?

For years we had the policy to submit OBS requirements to Factory - and I think this is still a good policy, even if OBS itself is not in Factory Greetings, Stephan -- Ma muaß weiterkämpfen, kämpfen bis zum Umfalln, a wenn die ganze Welt an Arsch offen hat, oder grad deswegn. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-ruby+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-ruby+owner@opensuse.org

Why?
To have a good share of useful gems in Factory - and to make sure obs gems get a legal review so the OBS appliance is issue free. The only information set I can base this on. If you want us to keep a pet package of yours around, let us know. Currently we have too much old stuff around and without knowing which packages people care about, it is hard to clean up this mess. And this also shows us which packages still have maintainers. darix -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-ruby+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-ruby+owner@opensuse.org
