[opensuse-releaseteam] switching cryptlvm test to GNOME?
Hi, Without Ring2 we can run the cryptlvm test with a proper desktop. Looks like it's using GNOME in upgrade scenarios already anyways. Anyone mind switching to DESKTOP=gnome for the cryptlvm test? Would also help advancing the role selection in staging. cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.com/ SUSE Linux GmbH, GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-releaseteam+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-releaseteam+owner@opensuse.org

I don't mind the change to using GNOME for the cryptlvm test - but the argumentation is quite weak. There are many other minimalx test there that would still need adressing. So it making 'one test more pass in staging' doesn't serve as an argument. Other than that - sure, go ahead. Cheers Dominique

Yeah, I noticed after sending the mail too. Question really is if that still make sense. MinimalX won't be an option in the installer anymore so I guess all the tests that used it should switch to a proper desktop. Which then prompts the question how we recommend to get things like MATE, LXQt, Enlightenment installed. So far we basically recommend MinimalX plus pattern. I doubt it will fly really well if we say '{GNOME}KDE} + Pattern'

Summary from quick meeting: We will introduce a "Generic Desktop" role for now until we migrated all QA tests to a real desktop. For Leap I don't want to keep this option though. cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.com/ SUSE Linux GmbH, GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-releaseteam+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-releaseteam+owner@opensuse.org
