[Bug 24423] New: radeonhd driver detects LVDS instead of DVI
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24423 Summary: radeonhd driver detects LVDS instead of DVI Product: xorg Version: 7.4 Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Driver/radeonhd AssignedTo: lverhaegen@suse.de ReportedBy: rbyshko@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-team@lists.x.org Hi, after intallation of openSuSE 11.1 I've got the error on the monitor "Input signal out of range". I have spent one and a half day resolving this issue, trying different versions of proprietary drivers. (only precompiled) However it didn't help. Then all of a sudden I found my problem described in one of the Debian bug reports. See http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=518782 The problem is that the driver wrongly recognized video output. It claimed that this is LVDS though it is DVI. Workaround Option "LVDSProbePLL" "off" in Device section helped me too. But I'm not still sure that driver works correctly, however X server and GUI started as it should be... As I understood Debian supports it's own version of the open sourse ati driver and they have already fixed it. But as you see the problem still remains in radeonhd driver. How can I help to fix this bug? The log of the X server with new driver is in comment #2.
I've submitted comment#2,#3 and #4 simultaneously. I thought attachments would be in the same comment, but they were added separately.
It shows you use radeon, not radeonhd. Edit xorg.conf to change that. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. _______________________________________________ xorg-team mailing list xorg-team@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-team
