0x9555:0x103C:0x1471: ATI M93 (Mobility Radeon HD 4500 series)
Hi, I have recently installed Slackware64 13.37 on a HP ProBook 6550b laptop from work. This distro comes with X.Org 1.9.5, radeonhd-1.3.0 drivers and ati-6.14.1 drivers. Using the default setup with radeonhd drivers autodetected by xorgsetup, my laptop goes into graphics mode, screen stays black and system stops responding (need hard reset). In /var/log/Xorg.0.log I see no explicit error, only the following notice : Card not in database and the info to contact you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If I use vesa driver, or the plain radeon driver, X works. With the radeonhd driver, total crash. It happens on both 32 and 64bit versions of the distro. I previously used slackware-13.1 with the older X.org-1.7.7 and radeonhd-1.3.0 and everything worked fine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ any info I can provide that should help, please let me know. Thank you. -- *ing. radeonhd is no longer developed, you need to switch to kernel modesetting + radeon driver. Recent distro like fedora or suse would work out of the box for your hw. Cheers, Jerome -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: radeonhd+owner@opensuse.org
