Re: Unable to detect monitor (Radeon 4850, Samsung 172)
Hello, Just bought a new HD4850 and having all troubles getting dual head to work. Both monitors are connected to the DVI ports on the card, one is a Eizo the other a Samsung. The Eizo monitor works just fine, but the Samsung is a problem.The Samsung displays during boot, and with the default fbdev driver, but using the radeonhd driver it will not display. The weird thing is in the Xorg.0.log it reports disconnected for the DVI port. On the wiki it suggests trying HPD Swap option, this indeed does work and the Samsung starts to display, but infuriatingly the Eizo stops displaying. Both will not display simultaneously. If I switch to an analog cable to the Samsung then both display and dual-head does work. I am also having similar difficulties with the ATI fglrx driver, it too wont display a big desktop on both monitors. Setup: Radeon HD4850 Samsung SyncMaster 172x DVI Eizo S1911 DVI openSUSE 11.0 32bit radeonhd, latest from git Attached log and conf. I am so sad. Any ideas please?
