Hi and Happy New Years!
Running openSUSE 11.1, among gnome-display-properties showing "Unknown" there are repetetive error lines (below) in Xorg.0.log
(WW) RADEONHD(0): No monitor size info, assuming 96dpi. (II) RADEONHD(0): Query for AtomBIOS Get Panel EDID: failed (II) RADEONHD(0): Found native mode: Modeline "1440x900" 107.80 1440 1504 1536 1970 900 903 906 912
Previously running 11.0 using fglrx driver successfully, however, after a fresh install of 11.1 the results are totally different when attempting to use the fglrx driver and am currently using the radeonhd driver. Perhaps kernel drivers have changed rendering the ability to succeed on EDID scan.
Please advise if further information is required. System: Compaq 6910p
Regards, Carl

What is "Unknown"?
(WW) RADEONHD(0): No monitor size info, assuming 96dpi. (II) RADEONHD(0): Query for AtomBIOS Get Panel EDID: failed (II) RADEONHD(0): Found native mode: Modeline "1440x900" 107.80 1440 1504 1536 1970 900 903 906 912
These are by definition no errors (errors would be (EE)).
Is anything not working correctly? RandR 1.2 is much more verbose in the
logfiles, and fglrx doesn't support RandR 1.2 yet.
