Hi folks, Just tried to compile from git head, but bumped into a Makefile bug that causes a build in a fresh directory checkout to fail, but is is simple enough not to be worth opening a bugzilla. The Makefile* chain of files still refers to the now-missing file radeon_commonfuncs.c, but if edited out by hand things still build just fine - so it really does seem to not be needed anymore.
