video performance problems after restarting X
Hi! I detected video performance problems with radeonhd on my RS690G motherboard after an upgrade to the latest radeonhd from git. Since I originally had no problems to play videos up to 720p, I now had 2fps. First I thought there was some bug introduced in the code because all worked well with 1.2.4. But after a git bisect section with random behaviour I finally found the pattern. The video problems start whenever I restart X. After I reboot my computer, they are gone away. I'd be happy if I'm the only one with this behaviour but if not, we may face some uninitialised / unintentionally initialised register? Just curious. Just to note, for whoever that wants a shot at diagnosing this, as discussed on IRC, this is a result of DRM failing to create vertex/indirect buffers list. -- Yang Zhao http://yangman.ca -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org

Is radeonhd leaking buffers, or is it a bug in DRM? Is this happening
with the radeon driver as well?
