0x94C3:0x1028:0x0302: <ATI Technologies Inc RV610 video device [Radeon HD 2400 PRO]>
Hi! It is a Dell computer (Inspiron 531) with a pre-installed graphics-card. On the original dell description it says the video card is a "128 MB ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro". - HDMI does not work, no device found with lsmod, lspci, etc. - In Ubuntu 9.10 the second level of acceleration (2D only?) can not be enabled See below for some parts of the xorg.log file (witch is also attached!): (II) RADEONHD: version 1.3.0, built from git branch master, commit fb1f84dd . . . (**) RADEONHD(0): Option "DRI" "on" (**) RADEONHD(0): Option "Audio" "true" (**) RADEONHD(0): Option "HDMI" "all" (**) RADEONHD(0): Selected EXA 2D acceleration. (II) RADEONHD(0): Card not in database: 0x94C3:0x1028:0x0302; using generic modesetting. If - and only if - your card does not work or does not work optimally please contact radeonhd@opensuse.org to help rectify this. Use the subject: 0x94C3:0x1028:0x0302: <name of board> and *please* describe the problems you are seeing in your message. (--) RADEONHD(0): Detected an RV610 on an unidentified card . . . (EE) config/hal: couldn't initialise context: unknown error (null) (II) RADEONHD(0): RHDHdmiUpdateAudioSettings: stopped with 1 channels, 48000 Hz sampling rate, 8 bits per sample, (II) RADEONHD(0): RHDHdmiUpdateAudioSettings: 0x00 IEC60958 status bits and 0x00 category code

Do you mean audio? radeonhd only handles the mixing of audio data into the HDMI data stream. You need ALSA support as well to actually bel to produce sound on the on board audio hardware.

EXA and Xv appear to initialize fine. Proper AIGLX requires 3D support, which is still experimental, and is handled by Mesa. Cheers, -- Yang Zhao http://yangman.ca -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org

The 2400 Pro card that I have, has no audio facilities whatsoever even if an lspci shows it, it is simply not wired up on the card. You get what you pay for.

Hi! I have a Radeon HD 4350 and want to enable audio over HDMI. It is a triple output connector card with a D-Sub, HDMI and DVI connector. The brand name is "ASUS EAH4350 SILENT/DI/512MB" and I use it with a primary monitor on D-Sub and a flat screen TV connected to the HDMI (the DVI connector is not used) and I get the following log: . . I get no sound through the HDMI. I also tried to connect the HDMI cable to the DVI connector through an ATI adapter and got the same negative result. A related problem is perhaps described in: http://lists.opensuse.org/radeonhd/2009-07/msg00063.html but gives me no clues for how to go further for here. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
