yes. We are sorting out the 3D engine now. One we've got triangles working we can start on EXA and 3D accel work. There is no 2D engine so everything has to be done with 3D. Alex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
Hi Alex, Timothy Does it mean that you have the documentation for chip sorted out? Is it available for the public? I have a r635 in my laptop, is it close enough to the r630? I really like the fact that no 2D h/w engine is available and everything is going to be done through 3D and all. I'm interested in the fixed functions 3D (i.e DirectX 6, 7 style). Are you going to write the equivalent shaders for the R6xx chips to emulate those fixed functions too? As far as I know, the R6xx is a big pixel/vertex shader processor and doesn't provide any support for the legacy functions. I'm so interested by this driver! Go guys go! Regards, Ilyes Gouta. There is documentation available on the display block, but we are still working on getting the documentation on the 3D engine released.

Right, there's no fixed function pipeline. 2D and fixed-function 3D will probably be a combination of pre-built and dynanically built shaders depending on the state and requested operation. Alex
