2560x1600 on 2nd monitor (dell 3007WFP-HC) on radeon X1400
hi, i'm trying to get 2560x1600 on second monitor (dell 3007WFP-HC).
i can't get over 1280x800.
even when i use the "Supported additional Video Mode" modeline from Xorg.0.log,
it says "mode clock too high", and no modes except 1280x800 show in xrandr.
i am able to work around the "mode clock too high" problem by commenting out a
check in rhd_tmds.c in the git source. for good measure i error and/or ignore
on all the other places that MODE_CLOCK_HIGH might happen, but those parts of
the code don't seem to ever be hit for me. the modification is attached as
git.diff.
the git.diff patch makes both the "additional" video mode i have specified, and
another (apparently default) 2560x1600 mode show up in xrandr. however, when i
switch into these modes the 3007WFP-HC just goes blank. also, even though i
have:
Option "PreferredMode" "2560x1600add"
in my xorg.conf (also attached), the 2nd monitor still starts in 1280x800.
my Xorg.0.log and startx.log are attached from:
- starting xorg via:
~ startx -- -logverbose 7 > startx.log 2>&1
- in xorg, running:
~ xrandr
