Daniele: You're using DVI2VGA adapter dongles, right? Could you please switch those around and try again?
only one, the other output is already VGA (sorry i didn't said it first) so i have 1 output vga, 1 output DVI. the DVI output have the DVI2VGA dongle. i can try it out but with fglrx the dongle work (but don't want to use fglrx, and i can't mix 16:10 with 4:3 monitors) after linking it, which test should i do (other than work/dont work)? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. _______________________________________________ xorg-team mailing list xorg-team@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-team -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org

This should be the correct connector table for the chip: {RHD_CONNECTOR_DVI_SINGLE, "VGA CRT2", RHD_DDC_1, RHD_HPD_NONE, { RHD_OUTPUT_NONE, RHD_OUTPUT_DACB } } {RHD_CONNECTOR_TV, "7PIN_DIN TV1 CV", RHD_DDC_0, RHD_HPD_NONE, { RHD_OUTPUT_DACB, RHD_OUTPUT_NONE } } {RHD_CONNECTOR_DVI_SINGLE, "SINGLE_LINK_DVI CRT1 DFP2", RHD_DDC_0, RHD_HPD_0, { RHD_OUTPUT_LVTMA, RHD_OUTPUT_DACA } }
if you supply a patch here i can test it before.
I will correct and submit this. If you use Option "HPD" "OFF" on ubuntu, do both montiors light up at start?
i can see that the monitor is somehow contacted, the power led (blink when on signal, on where there is a signal) will stay on for a few secs. and, for the system, the monitor is connected (but black, as in topic), i can move the mouse around and so on.
You may want to try a plain Xserver at first before you use a desktop environment as desktops often use utilities which remember a previous state and try to reset this. To do this just run 'X' on the console command line and kill the server with crtl-alt-backspace.
on gentoo i have already did that (well, i use startx with twm) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. _______________________________________________ xorg-team mailing list xorg-team@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-team -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org

ok, i have seen the patch on git. installed it.
and... it works! :) thanks a lot!
i have only one problem left: i have one 16:10 and one 4:3 monitor.
X, also with preferred mode, or modeline. - if vga is connected to 16:10 (Asus) the resolution on 4:3 (Samsung) is wrong - if vga is connected to 4:3 (Samsung) the resolution on 16:10 (Asus) is wrong
if i do a `xrandr --output (output) --auto` of the wrong resolution, it works fine. by now i have setup in .kde/Autostart/xrandr something like xrandr --output *** --auto to both monitor, but this is a workaround...
how can i fix that?
do you think that i need to fill out another bug and mark this as resolved?
many thanks again.
I don't think this is a bug at all. The initial resolutions are picked by randr. Does this also happen when you start X with twm instead of kde? Maybe you can attach a '-logverbose 7' logfile. I'm marking this as fixed now, you can still attache the requested information. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. _______________________________________________ xorg-team mailing list xorg-team@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-team -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
