I am trying to use the radeonhd driver on my Asus F7SR X70 laptop. X seems to start and keeps running but the screen stays black. The fxglrx drivers also don't work but the mobility radeon HD 2400 isn't supported by those drivers according to ATI. The Xorg logfile indicated that the M72 is on unknown board and I should mail this adress if I had problems with the display. Attached the Xorg log file and my xorg.conf file. I hope you can help me out. Can you let me know what I can do about this issue? Thank you.
Martin, you may want to try a later version of the driver, some problems with DAC sensing have been fixed. Please check http://wiki.x.org/wiki/radeonhd for more info on how to obtain and build the driver. Also please provide a more verbose log file. Use the command line option '-logverbose 7' when you start the server. The log file that you have sent indicates that you have a digital monitor (DVI) and an analog monitor (VGA) both connected to your system. Is this possible?
