[Bug 21700] New: Runing more then one X on single machine (single card) makes both X (and display) unusable.
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21700 Summary: Runing more then one X on single machine (single card) makes both X (and display) unusable. Product: xorg Version: 7.4 Platform: x86 (IA32) OS/Version: Linux (All) Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Driver/radeonhd AssignedTo: lverhaegen@suse.de ReportedBy: sauron@rpg.pl QAContact: xorg-team@lists.x.org Hi, When using RadeonHD with NO 2D acceleration I can run two X servers simultaneously. Yesterday I wanted to check XV (since I miss it a lot after I'v changed fglrx in favour of RadeonHD) - with single X server running - XV (exa) work's fine. But when I try to start second X server - everything mess up. First X server process eats all CPU, and after sending kill it become zombie :) Same thing with xaa. After turning 2D acceleration off, it's more or less ok, but from time to time, changing between X servers (ctrl+alt+[F7 F8]) freeze display completely. But killing X server process over SSH make's it (display) usable again. Every later versions of fglrx (I'v finished on 9.1) where unable to open 2 x servers - running second one always ended with full hang up. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. _______________________________________________ xorg-team mailing list xorg-team@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-team -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
