I've got a similar issue with my X1400 on Dell Inspiron 9400, backlight is alwayest the lowest possible (not totally off). With xrandr I can set any value between 0 and 255 and it reports that it was set, but the backlight does not change. Reverting the "Reenabling AtomBIOS controlled backlight." commit: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-radeonhd/commit/?id=de3f8... makes it work like before (backlight cna be changed with "Fn + arrow_up" or "Fn + arrow_down"). "Xorg.0.log" from "X -logverbose 7" is attached. Jens
