We don't have support for tiled framebuffers yet - that will yield a major performance boost. Egbert is working on a set of patches for that.
I think that the interesting part is the following: (EE) RADEONHD(0): rhdVGASaveFB: VGA FB Offset (0xF0000000) is out of range of the Cards Internal FB Address (0xC0000000) [...] (EE) RADEONHD(0): [drm] Could not create vertex/indirect buffers list (II) RADEONHD(0): [drm] removed 1 reserved context for kernel (II) RADEONHD(0): [drm] unmapping 8192 bytes of SAREA 0xf8d2c000 at 0xa80d1000 (II) RADEONHD(0): [drm] Closed DRM master. [...] (II) AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI capable (II) AIGLX: Loaded and initialized /usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so (II) GLX: Initialized DRISWRAST GL provider for screen 0 The first error should be harmless (the content of the VGA FB is not restored when the screen is closed - if I'm reading the code correctly), but shouldn't interfere with DRI.
