So what about describing ForceLowPowerMode with the following: Enabling this option will set the GPU engine clock to a low value, statically. This can help reduce heat and increase battery life by reducing power usage at the expense of performance. You can specify the GPU engine clock with the LowPowerModeEngineClock option. If you don't specify the engine clock it will be set to (default_engine_clock / 2).
Even simpler: Enable to statically set GPU engine clock to a lower than default value. This can help reduce power consumption. Default is off.
LowPowerModeEngineClock: This option controls what the GPU engine clock is set to (in Hz), when the option ForceLowPowerMode is used. Otherwise this option will have no effect.
Engine clock frequency to use when ForceLowPowerMode is enabled, in Hz. If not set, half of default clock frequency is used. -- Yang Zhao http://yangman.ca -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
