Hi. I tried to use the driver radeonhd (1.3.0), but it does not work properly on my laptop. Seems to be going fine until the initialization of graphics, then on the screen spots a strange color and everything hangs (Helps only power off). The spots sometimes slowly change color. Will you update the driver for this card?
It looks like you're using X with 3D acceleration (DRI, compositing) enabled; radeonhd doesn't have 3D acceleration support for the RS600 (Radeon Xpress 1250) yet. It works without 3D enabled (I have the same graphics card), but as far as I know you'd be lucky if you could get it working at all, so don't hope for too much in the mean time. You might get better results with the radeon (ati) driver though - there was another user on this mailing list for which this happened a while back.
