setuptools version in dlp vs latest release

Hi I noticed that in dlp setuptools is pretty far behind in regards to the latest release and just wanted to check in if there is a reason for this or if it is OK to try to update it. I recently ran into a few packages locally that needed a newer setuptools version that the dlp one. Arun

Hello Arun I see that setuptools-40.5.0.zip in Leap and setuptools-44.1.1.zip in Factory. If you're interested in Leap and you can give me some usecase / need for particular update I can open 15.4 feature request. If you're talking about factory itself then I can't help you much. Did you get an answer off-list regarding setuptools in Tumleweed? I have prepared setuptools-57 in my ~, but it is indeed a big change. Ben https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:bnavigator:branches:devel:langu...

Hi I think the plan is to update to the latest version. Great, if you got it to work in your ~, do you think it can be merged into dlp? Arun
