Dear List, I try now for two months to setup an absolutely transparent ftp-proxy. I redirect packages from port 21 to my ftp-proxy port 3129 using iptables (the same way i do with squid) squid works transparent but my ftp-proxy doesn't. I use the configuration given with the patch from suse.com. Has anyone done something like this befor? Can anyone help me? Take a look into ftp-proxy/TransProxy-Mini-Howto.txt: :: Warning: The implementation of transparent proxying support :: is tested only with the transparent proxy feature of the :: Linux 2.2.x kernels and ipchains. IP-Tables was not supported in prevoius versions, because it uses a different (better) method to do this.

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth0 -p tcp \ --dport 21 -j REDIRECT --to-ports 21

Yes, I'm working on this actually :-)
Try the attached patch - it should work with.
