Hi there, we have the following setup for our ftp proxy: Internet <--->Router with 128 kbit connection<--->eth1<--->FW and FTP-Proxy<--->eth0<--->Intranet (100 Mbit) There is no masquerading between the class C subnet (intranet) and the internet, we manage everything by proxys. SuSE FTP Proxy is not enabled as transparent proxy. Using version 1.7tp8. OK, so much for that everything works fine, we use the proxy for outgoing connections, the firewall blocks incoming requests on the FTP-Proxy. Now comes my problem (or rather my question): Is there a way to tell the ftp-proxy not to cache too large chunks of data in an upload as that completely screws up the FTP-Client. Or in clearer words: Whenever I make an upload the client sends e.g. 1 MB to the proxy (100 MBit connection). Next it shows up as idle because of the time it takes to send the data thru the 128 kbit connection to the internet. That completely screws up my collegues, that can't understand what's going on. So is there a way to reduce the cache ?!? Maybe set it to a fix value (e.g. always have 50 kb more than is sent thru the router), so the waiting time at the end of the connection and the uncertainty if the file has arrived will disappear or at least decrease ...
