[opensuse-project] Phoronix Intel Atom Benchmark Article
Intel Atom On Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSuSE, Mandriva http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=intel_atom_four&num=1 "For our testing this time around we used a Jetway NC92 IPC motherboard. This mini ITX motherboard uses the Intel 945GC Chipset with ICH7 Southbridge and it comes with an Atom 230 1.6GHz processor. This motherboard uses standard DDR2 and it offers a single PCI slot. In addition to that, we also used a 300GB Seagate ST3300622AS SATA HDD, 2GB of DDR2 memory, and the Intel 945 graphics were driving a 1680 x 1050 LCD display." Basically 11.1-RC1 was the slowest in almost all the tests, sometimes by a very long way, that'll be significant to end users. Is 11.1 likely to make a large difference? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

No, if you do your homework first, you will notice that 11.1 GM has been done since Dec 10. The results of this (questionable) test are being looked into, though, and official response will follow later. -- "We have art in order not to die of the truth" - Friedrich Nietzsche Cristian Rodríguez R. Thanks Cristian, I didn't expect it to, but -RC1 was built for final testing not release, and quite a while before the 10th, so I did not want to make any assumptions.

Glad to hear that, I'll look forward to the technical response then. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

Why is the benchmark questionable? I'm not saying it's well done, nor defending it. Just want to know why it's questionable. Rafa -- "We cannot treat computers as Humans. This was raised on factory already and I commented there just a few minutes ago. I blogged about it: http://lizards.opensuse.org/2008/12/16/comments-on-phoronix-benchmarking-ope...
