A few questions first: Will there be official builds of aria2? Will there be official
.metalinks?
For the brave, nightly builds of DownThemAll!, a Firefox extension, support Metalink -
mirrors & full file checksums, no download repairs yet. (Expect a beta in a few
weeks). In this screenshot, the icon/logo, description, publisher, license, OS/arch, &
other info are taken from the metalink. Some cool possibilities.

.metalinks for 10.3 Alpha5 are at
http://download.packages.ro/metalink/opensuse/
Collection metalinks which contain CD1-6 in a single metalink are at

All .metalinks contain repair info (chunk checksums). I've updated the wiki.
aria2 (RPMs graciously provided at
http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/rpm-navigation.php?cat=/Network/aria2 ) can
autocorrect/repair metalink downloads if they contain chunk checksums. Basically, your
finished download should have no errors when it's done, similar to rsync and
BitTorrent downloads. And it should be pretty fast (depending on your connection speed) by
using multiple mirrors.
