With only 2 months to go it is time to get the board election process fired up again. As a first step we are looking for an election committee of 2 to 4 volunteers. The election committee determines the time line for the election process and determines which seats are up for election according to election rules [1]. We the members of the board believe there are 2 seats up for election, currently held by Peter Linnell, appointed after Richard Brown was appointed by SUSE as Board Chair, the other held by Robert Schweikert who is reaching the end of a 2 year term. This opinion is to be confirmed or refuted by the election committee. In order for there to be an election we need candidates that want to participate on the openSUSE Board. If you are interested in the governance of the project and are willing to make the time commitment please consider standing for election. As with previous calls for candidates we realize that it is difficult to predict the future. However, we asked that before you stand for election you try your best to examine whether or not you can commit to the board for the next 2 years. Having people step down is always a disruption.
