Voting/Elections Complaint
Hello, I would like raise a complaint with the openSUSE Project overall. In July, I applied for membership so that I could have voting rights when elections come up. I followed up a number of times with a number of people including resubmitting the application on the membership Pagure page at the suggesting of others. I am questioning how we can run an election when there are pending applicants for membership. In addition, I am confused as to why it takes almost 5 months to receive a response regarding a membership to a community where I spend a lot of time and have provided resources. Thank you for your time. Bill Schouten

Firstly sorry to here of your situation, I am aware we have had to change platforms for this during the year and this has caused delays, for now I wont comment on whether this could have been handled and communicated better (although this should be looked at in the future probably). With regards to the election, the board is aware that there is a number of pending membership applications and has reached out to both the election officials and membership officials. We have asked the election officials to confirm with the membership officials that all pending applications in the new tracker system (code.opensuse.org) are handled before the election itself starts properly. We have also been in contact with the membership officials who are aware and working through the applications.
