I personally have not seen any recent announcements or reminders of the membership application deadline, the "nomination" deadline, or this "Meet Your Candidates" on the Forums nor the openSUSE News. I'd guess the forums use the RSS feed - and unfortunately the news.o.o RSS feed is broken since about two weeks. The problem is "just" some leading whitespace, but that's enough to make it invalid XML. This is a known issue that happens on every wordpress update and needs a manual fix in the PHP code.
