[opensuse-project] GSoC 2012 Proposal - openSUSE Karma plugin for openSUSE Connect
Hi all, I am applying for the GSoC project "openSUSE Karma plugin for openSUSE Connect", under Michal Hrušecký. I have created the proposal, and ran it through Michal for his comments, and have made the changes that he suggested. The proposal is here: http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/proposal/review/google/gsoc2012/priyankam... It would be obliged, if others could also have a look, and let me know if there is anything that is amiss, or something that I should elaborate. Thanks a ton! :-) -- Priyanka M -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

So you have a challenger or co-worker http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/proposal/review/google/gsoc2012/kar2905/6... About your plan I just would avoid this planet.openSUSE.org posts should be rewarded with Karma. a certain number of post there doesn't concern openSUSE directly. Doing karma is encouraging post like: Morning I wake up, Noon, lunch, Sleep early. -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

6.a. Certain privileged users should be able to award badges ... On Wikipedia and Flickr there are no privileged users, but people award badges, offer membership in groups, etc. I would prefer that any badge (award, points) is created by individual or group that has interest in evaluation activity. You just create infrastructure for that, and let people create awards and other will decide who is better evaluator, in other words let users assign Karma to evaluators. :) 7.b. Some badges would be secret ... I don't see point in secret badges that no one knows what they represent. Also, Karma points should work like money, or stocks. Not everyone can print it, but initial amount must be given to certain group of people so that market can start working. That group would be anyone with Connect login. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
