it happened that (as a de-facto maintainer of E-svn packages for openSUSE) i prepared a small project: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/dmitry_serpokryl:/E/

where have cooked some packages according to the Enlightenment Release Schedule. below is a draft page about that on E official site: http://trac.enlightenment.org/e/wiki/E17%20binary%20packages

suppose that the list of packages could be expanded in the nearest future. it's planned to have a regular monthly updates of a binary packages from E-svn. right now the repo inddeed contain core minimum plus "expedite" - universal test suite for "evas" (canvas of E-DR17).

is it possible to add my modest project to the "global" X11 group or replace/modify/upgrade the existing highly outdated repository: http://download.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/repositories/X11:/Enlightenment/ ?

There is a project "X11:windowmanagers" where it would best be suited IMHO. Does it really need a project ? Wouldn't the packages be enough, under X11:windowmanagers ?

Would that be OK ? I'm a maintainer for that project, so I could move your home:dmitry_serpokryl:E/* to X11:windowmanagers/

(we're probably better off discussing that on the opensuse-buildservice mailing-list by the way)

hi Pascal! how are you? thanks for your attention! i asked about X11:Enlightenment only because the repo is already here and it's quite outdated (soon i'll fix that). also E is just the implementation of EFL - Enlightenment Foundation Libraries - some practical demonstration of a great capabilities and flexibility they can provide. as you can notice: http://trac.enlightenment.org/e/wiki/E17%20binary%20packages we can provide some EFL-based applications along with Enlightenment-DR17 and "X11:Enlightenment" fits exactly for this task. also the compilation of E for openSUSE-10.3 and Mandriva-2008 require some upgrade of a system components ("dbus" >= 1.2.3) and looks like we agreed to provide EFL not only for SLE/openSUSE, but for FC and Mandriva as well. for "X11:windowmanagers" i can offer good old "AfterStep" and "JWM" available in my home repo (need to improve specs a bit i guess): http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/dmitry_serpokryl:/Enlightenm... what do you think? best regards, sda -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org
