However do you think that stripping my copyright, and using a different date with my name against is, is an accurate reflection? Well I'm not sure why you're complaining here.
If this is because I removed the part where you replaced SUSE's copyright with My mistake, you didn't replace SUSE's copyright but you added yours.
I appreciate that you acknowledge this here. In particular because it turned the whole removal around completely.I would have shown you the diff, asked you to rephrase and comment on why /you /removed /mine/. I am sure you can understand I feel some kind of way about it. Leave the change as is, let's have the general discussion.
yours, I hope you can easily understand why this change was inappropriate, especially since your contribution was tiny compared to the rest of the spec file (please don't misunderstand - I'm not suggesting your contribution was worthless). However this addition still looks inappropriate. Other people from the community made (much) bigger contributions without adding their copyright into the spec file. Their contributions have been recorded in the changelog and it has always been sufficient.
I cannot speak about others. Let's speak about the general situation: SUSE LLC's copyright line is both added and updated upon every invocation of the source service (at least osc build), with or without any involvement of a SUSE person. What's good for SUSE should be good for everyone if they choose to do so like me, without filtering. Alternatively, well I am repeating myself - see the discussion points in my original post. Andreas
