*Word processing/spreadsheet & co.*
OpenOffice.org (the best Office application but definetly not lightweight). XFCE suggest to install it
or
Abiword and Gnumeric (never used before so i don't know how good they are now, but they _ARE_ lightweight) I'm not sure but if there are not to many gnome dependencies, could be OK. For sure, OO is better as office suite...
*PDF*
epdfview (imho better) or xpdf Sorry, I don't know epdfview..
*Mail client*
i have no idea what provide here.. And what about browser ? TB+FF or Evolution+Epiphany, hard to say.. sorry..
*Money*
should we provide gnucash? probably too many gnome dependencies? Don't bloat installation. So for me nothing here. Bye.

Sorry, I don't know epdfview..
it's lightweight gtk2 pdf viewer, you can find it into X11:xfce repo
And what about browser ? TB+FF or Evolution+Epiphany, hard to say.. sorry..
Browser? IMHO definetly firefox, version 3.6 is much faster and actually is the more supported browser, that means less troubles to users

should we provide gnucash? probably too many gnome dependencies?
