= Board Meeting Monday 2024-10-28 14:00 CET = * Present: Gerald, Doug, Shawn, Simon * Excused: Patrick * Missed: Neal * Notes: Gerald == Day/time of this meeting == * Next meeting affected by US daylight saving; this week was a one-off. * Simon can do this slot the next months (despite it being very late his time). * => Keep it at 14:00 CET every second Monday. == Email bot/notifications for this meeting still not working == * Ticket filed https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/163547 * Shawn will follow up == Upcoming Board Elections == * Gerald reached out to the election officials and got a first confirmation. * How can we make sure "everybody" (= at least all members) are aware and see candidate platforms? - Cross-posting to all "official" platforms of announcements * Idea: create a members-announce@ list that is for major announcements only, to be used rarely * AI: Gerald * Idea: Talk with Jim from the Forums team about an "Official announcements" tag/subforum * AI: Shawn == Name / Foundation Discussions == * Reminder, please chime in at https://forums.opensuse.org/c/special-discussions/project-discussions/142 * For next meeting AI to send out an item to news.o.o.

I would have a number of small concerns on the implementation (proliferation and such), and I believe the ballot is already addressed personally. The main point is this: does membership not involve being somewhat up to date of what is happening in the project? Subscription to project@ is a good way to achieve that. Andreas

it could be an automatic subscription of members if only it's not used too often. Still better than individual mails... jdd -- https://dodin.org
