[opensuse-project] berlios shutdown - move to gitorious
As Berlios.de will be shutting down all services at the end of the year, we need to move out our infrastructure and translation repositories from there. I went through the infrastructure projects, and migrated the active ones to gitorious: www.opensuse.org frontpage: git@gitorious.org:opensuse/www_opensuse_org.git wiki: git@gitorious.org:opensuse/wiki_opensuse_org.git shop.opensuse.org: git@gitorious.org:opensuse/shop_opensuse_org.git party: git@gitorious.org:opensuse/party_o_o.git news.opensuse.org: git@gitorious.org:opensuse/news_o_o.git lizards.opensuse.org: git@gitorious.org:opensuse/lizards_o_o.git help.opensuse.org: git@gitorious.org:opensuse/help_o_o.git apparmor.opensuse.org: git@gitorious.org:opensuse/apparmor_o_o.git There are some folders where I'm not sure if they are in use, and where the owners would like to put them: license.o.o download.o.o documentation/ tools/ Greetings! -- Thomas Schmidt (tom [at] opensuse.org) openSUSE Boosters Team "Don't Panic", Douglas Adams (11.03.1952 - 11.05.2001) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

There are some folders where I'm not sure if they are in use, and where the owners would like to put them:
license.o.o
please also to gitorious.
documentation/ documentation/release-notes-opensuse/ is in use. It is currently being updated to reflect 12.1 This could be become part of the opensuse-doc repo, and move with it.
svn.berlios.de/svnroot/repos/opensuse-doc also needs a new home. We need this as an svn repo. Our mechanics uses svn properties, which are not available on gitorious, I believe. I would like to have this hosted at svn.opensuse.org ...
tools/ tools/License-Syntax/ is in use. Upstream for license.o.o gitorious or sf.net are fine.

Why can not all that be hosted by SUSE/Attachmate? That would perhaps facilitate coordination with the build service. Currently the .pot files necessary for translation of webyast are obsolete, dated last May. They should be, perhaps, automatically updated when the devs submit a new webyast version, and currently they "forget" to forward the strings to the translation team. And the same for the rest of the projects that we translate. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Whatever the result IMO if there is an agreed approach to where it would be, life could be easier . IIRC sometime ago due to problems with gitorius things were moving to github. So looks like we have gitorius, github and svn.opensuse.org ( at least I know of) Togan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

Regarding the latest one, the trend is to move stuff out of svn.opensuse.org together with the move from SVN to Git. Have in mind that git requires to download all the repository. I don't think anyone will like to download all if they will work in one language only. -- Kind Regards -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

Most certainly not. :-/ - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Greetings!
Just one thing, please consider moving to github.com instead, really. I've wrote a mail on the opensuse-buildservice list why all OBS-related development will move _away_ from gitorious. The studio, yast and zypper guys did so already a while ago and more a doing so right now. Of course, this is yours to decide. -- Viele Grüße, Sascha

Hi, we discussed about the github option, but decided to move to gitorious to support the open-source platform.
