[opensuse-project] FOSDEM openSUSE party?

Hi All, we recently touched the subject of having an openSUSE get-together at FOSDEM, let's make this a little more concrete! 2 years ago we had an excellent dinner at restaurant Le Delire Parisien near Avenue Louisa on the Saturday evening, but that might be a little above the financial profile we're looking for, so I'd like to propose a couple of locations in the neighborhood to see if we can get this setup! - Michael Collins Irish Pub - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Michael+Collins+Irish+Pub/@50.825709,4.364... I've been here before, It's quite a decent location to get some beers and enjoy a nice evening (although service can be a tad slowish, the beer definitely makes up for that). We shouldn't come here if the group exceeds 10/15 people because they don't have room for that. It's about 15 min walking from the ULB or <10 min by tram. - Cafe Belga - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Caf%C3%A9+Belga/@50.8258378,4.3675171,17z/... An absolute institute in Brussels, they have live music/dj in the evening and a renowned Belgian fries stand around the corner (100 m - Frit Flagey). It's at walking distance from the ULB (5/10 minutes). They can easily handle large groups. - Sounds Jazz Club - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Sounds+Jazz+Club/@50.8288196,4.358698,15z/... Some call this the best Jazz club in Brussels, and you can get Italian food at a decent price here. This is also more suitable for a smaller group (between 10/20 people) It's about 15/20 min walking from the ULB or <10 min by tram. Does anyone have a preference or should we just roll a dice! Hi All! Based on the feedback so far, we will probably be reaching/exceeding 15 people, sweet! Let's make the pragmatic choice then and go for Cafe Belga as it is both nearest to the FOSDEM venue and, so i've been told, can handle larger groups easier than the other 2 venues. I''ll notify them we're coming to see if they can perhaps offer us some specific corner/table(s) or suchlike. So Saturday evening, anytime anyone feels like it (probably after 19/20 o'clockish), there will be some Geeko's at the Belga Cafe, looking forward to it! Let's see if we can do some kind of social media announcement for this. All the best! I've tried to reserve spots at the Cafe Belga (group of 20 should be enough), but they are very strict in that we all should be there at 19h sharp, else they will cancel the tables. It is after all a saturday evening and it is a popular spot. However that shouldn't be that much of a problem, because Cafe Belga is quite a large location and Plan B - within 5 to 10 minutes walk from the cafe Belga there are quite a lot of alternatives, like: - Bar du Marche - Michael Collins Irish Pub I'll try calling the Cafe Belga again later today and post an update on this ML.
