For myself, and everyone knows about my low-vision :-), I find it very readable. However, vision is not uniform and different people see things in different ways, even amongst low-visioners. I can see how the busy-ness of the background can interfere with the readability of the text. Perhaps a raised font to give it a more 3D appearance and thus greater separation between the text and background would be more helpful? Hi, I don't have vision problems, nevertheless I subscribe Bryen on this issue as it seems to me the contrast between the text and the background could be worked for a better result. I have also much respect for the original way on how contributions are submitted and to respect it without major changes, we could try to use a 1px stroke around the font on the text in a bright color (maybe lemon green from old Jimmac's pallete) to try and see if we could get a better result, and respecting the original author's contribution. Would that be possible as a test? NM On Sun, Jan 16, 2011 at 1:54 PM, Bryen M. Yunashko <suserocks@bryen.com> wrote:

I like the general concept of the current design and don't think we should be expending time re-tinkering with a new design. We're all busy with lots on our plates both personally with other commitments and preparation for 11.4 release itself. I think time is better spent if we just focus on enhancing the text presentation and moving on from here. A new design may simply spawn more endless discussions and push the countdown release even further down the line. I'm not seeing any objections to the actual design itself, so why re-do it? :-) Bryen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

It's not what I meant. But if someone has another idea on how to do it, she's most welcome to share it, it's not like I'm the one deciding which one to use (it's just that I'm the only one doing it ;)). Just curious, since the counter design is accepted already, why does http://www.opensuse.org/en/ still have the oSConf counter and not this? Also, was there only an english counter for the conference since all the language versions of the o.o homepage (nl, de, es, etc) have the same conference counter version.

Well the http://www.opensuse.org/el/ does not, also about it I had sent translations some time before but nothing changed, can anyone tell me to whom I should talk about it? I remember talking with someone about it but I accidentally erased some e-mails some time ago and those e-mails where in those I erased and I forgot to whom I was talking... Who can help me fix it and have it ready for 11.4?

The counter is there, maybe you need to clear your cache to get the current version of the page. For the translations: Please send me a translated version of: http://svn.berlios.de/svnroot/repos/opensuse/trunk/infrastructure/www.o.o/el... so I can include it. Yes, but it points to the conference page. Same applies to the German page.
