[opensuse-project] Some Questions about OwnCloud and Mirall
Hi I use a lot the dropbox application in order to share various files between me desktop and notebook and in order to have instant access to my shared data from other systems or in order to share some of my data to other users. I was very happy when I read that openSUSE 12.1 will be supporting OwnCloud, although I never tested so far. I read the http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:OwnCloud also I went to the OwnCloud page and saw the demo and I really liked it but I did not understand a few things. 1) Does OwnCloud gives you a free storage like Dropbox and how many MB/GB is that? 2) Do I have to firstly install OwnCloud or by installing Mirall I will be ok? 3) Is Mirall on any of the Community repos or is it available only by one click install? I have the 'basic' repos on my desktop and I could not find it there. ownCloud means it's your own cloud, so you need to provide the storage space yourself. And that means you "own" it completely and thus control it.

I've had ownCloud running for a couple weeks. I have more to figure out, but would suggest that you also grab wdfs and related tools. Alan Clark
