[opensuse-project] Can one manually become a "Member Emeritus"
Hi all, after reading https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Members, I understand that I can cancel my membership status with immediate effect and forever. To become a "Member Emeritus", with a "way back" into the community in case things might turn good again, I have to wait for the status request and just not respond to it. But the last such request was almost 3 years ago. IIUC I need to stop all actions on the mailing lists (might be a good idea ;-)) and packaging (not so good) for the bot to pick me up. So is there a manual procedure to follow to become "Member Emeritus"? I, unfortunately, also find myself wondering the same thing now. -- Jim Henderson Please keep on-topic replies on the list so everyone benefits -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

Let me raise this on the Board (and I think there should be such a way if desired by the member). But let's also chat on the background, if you don't mind. Gerald -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

Did anything emerge from these discussuions? https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Members does not list anything. -- Stefan Seyfried "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." -- Richard Feynman

1. We know there was a group of "Member Emeritus" on connect.o.o that we need to migrate into whatever new membership system we have. 2. Once we have a new membership system we need to setup a formal technical process to migrate members to Emeritus status. 3. There is still an open todo item https://code.opensuse.org/board/tickets/issue/5 on my list to clarify and improve https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Members Regardless of these in the current period where we have no connect and no membership system it is pretty hard for us to process any requests in this area. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B
