It's time to start planning for the 2012 openSUSE conference (osc12). In some ways it may feel early, but in others it feels like we are already behind. One of the first steps is determining the place and time. We need to resolve this very soon.
Some community members have voiced interest in holding osc12 at their city; prompting this email. We invite those interested in hosting the event to place a preliminary proposal on the openSUSE conference planning wiki: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Conference_Call_For_Location by January 6th. We will then use that information to investigate the feasibility of each proposal and to determine the place and date for osc12.
So two actions requested by this email: 1) If you are interested in hosting osc12, please place a proposal on the wiki. 2) If you would like to add comments or questions/concerns to the individual proposals, I invite you to do so on the wiki so that they can be considered, investigated and addressed.
Happy Holidays everyone.

I have a question as to the general planning of osc12, rather than individual proposals.
At osc11 we had a combined openSUSE and SUSE Labs conference which I (and others) thought went pretty well. As a result there was talk about doing another combined conference, but this time also including a new SUSE conference (similar to a SUSE specific Brainshare). Is this still on the cards? Also do others think doing this is good/bad?

Andy
