[opensuse-project] openSUSE Board election
All, I'm very happy to see the excellent set of announced candidates for the board this early in the process. It won't be easy deciding who to vote for! That's great news and shows a vibrant community. see http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Board_election_2010#Candidates One thing not clear to me is what the company affiliations are. (I gather Sebas is with openSLX). Can the wiki be updated with that info for each candidate? Specifically I believe Henne is Novell, but I don't know for sure. Also, I would like to see incumbents even more clearly identified. I see Henne is identified as a board member, but I'm used to (I) following the name of incumbents in US elections. Maybe (Incumbent) would be better for an international election like this. Finally, I'm curious if Pascal is also running for a second term, but I guess he has a couple weeks to announce. fyi: I ask the company affiliation because of the comment on the wiki: == With the existing company affiliations in the board (Pavol - Novell, Bryen - none, Rupert - openSLX) the restraint is that at most one of the additional elected persons can be affiliated with Novell and one with openSLX. == Thanks Greg -- Greg Freemyer Head of EDD Tape Extraction and Processing team Litigation Triage Solutions Specialist http://www.linkedin.com/in/gregfreemyer CNN/TruTV Aired Forensic Imaging Demo - http://insession.blogs.cnn.com/2010/03/23/how-computer-evidence-gets-retriev... We asked the candidates today to use their platform pages (linked in the wiki) to give the community more information about them. When we have the info we will also put some more formal info on the election page. Pascal will confirm if this is still valid, but he announced during the openSUSE Conference he wouldn't run this time. But we can try to convince him to do so ;-) Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

Unfortunately, as much as all of us would love to see him remain on the board, he has reached his two-term limit. He's going to have to wait a year until the next election and then run again. jdd not being on the board doesn't mean he won't be around, don't give him bad ideas now please ;-)
