[opensuse-project] Planning w.r.t. Packages and Versions
[I'm not sure this is proper place for my question. If it isn't please excuse the noise (and tell me where to turn to :-)).] Hello all, I'm trying to do some mid-term planning for a couple of our projects. For that it'd be very helpful to know how certain packages will evolve over the next couple of versions: Looking at Leap 42.1 we currently have - wxWidgets 2.8.12 (as well as the more recent 3.0.x) - DeviceKit-disks (contained in udisks-1.0.5) - Ruby 2.1 - X.org 7.6 What are the odds that wxWidgets 2.8.12 and DeviceKit-disks (udisks-1.0.5) will still be kept for 42.2 or 42.3? How about Ruby and X.org? Will it simply be the version of these packages that are current a few months before the release of 42.x? Any insights, guesses, hints, ... will be greatly appreciated! Honestly, I consider shipping udisks1 in Leap an error/accident. This package is no longer maintained and has long been replaced by udisks2. I'd not plan on having this available in Leap 42.2. For the others, I let more qualified people speak. KDE3 is not part of Leap 42.1 - so those packages did not get on your machine in a clean Leap 42.1 install way. Hence, keeping udisks1 in Leap makes no sense - as you already know, KDE3, which is not shipped in Leap, is the only thing on your machine depending on it (so you could get udisks from the same place you got the kde3 packages from) Cheers, Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
