[opensuse-project] TIdeSDK not working on openSUSE 12.3 64bit
Hello folks, I installed TideSDK as explained on its site : http://tidesdk.multipart.net/docs/user-dev/generated/#!/guide/getting_starte... Upon running, a dialog box appears with the User agreement. When I accept and click run, the dialog vanishes. I ran the same from command line and got the following :
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ish@inote:~/.tidesdk> ./TideSDK\ Developer /home/ish/.tidesdk/installer/installer: /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4: no version information available (required by /home/ish/.tidesdk/installer/installer)

I can confirm you that libcurl.so.4 is present. I came across TideSDK while looking for one on which I could develop HTML5 apps for both desktop & mobile (Android). My search led to TideSDK. Their source is available at https://github.com/TideSDK/TideSDK. I'm not a professional coder but I know some HTML, SQL and PHP and a little bit of Perl scripting. So, I felt this tool could do the trick. The packages on the website contains only the binary and some libraries. So, you can just extract and run it. There is a Code Challenge being organized in Mauritius. Some friends and I are participating to build an HTML5 app. Since this event will be viewed by many we thought why not building on top of openSUSE. We could push & promote openSUSE there. I've ran the TideSDK application on Linux Mint 15 though, the only library that was missing was libjpeg62. Once installed it ran fine. I am now trying to figure out what's missing in openSUSE so that I can run it properly. We're just 2 weeks away from the Code Challenge. I've posted the same question on the forums & facebook groups. Due to the short notice we have, grateful if someone can help in getting the SDK run on openSUSE. Thank you. Regards, Ish Sookun - Geek by birth ... what are TideSDK's dependencies? (i didn't find a list on their site) alternatively: what was available on the Linux Mint 15 you used successfully, but which is not installed on your openSUSE? dd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

Hello folks,
Hi, Ish - you've now asked this queestion on the openSUSE facebook page and the openSUSE forums - the project list isn't really the right place to ask for help, because it's about the openSUSE project, not about how to use openSUSE. Yep. Got it Jim. I told you I wanted a quick fix before the guys decide which distribution to choose for the code challenge. The problem has been solved by Malcolm on the forums. Anyway, sorry for bothering you guys. Regards, Ish Sookun - Geek by birth ...
