[opensuse-project] Google Summer of Code 2012: Introducing myself
Hi all, My name is Praful Johari. I am an undergraduate student at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. I am interested in working on the project idea "Automated resizing of LVM filesystems" and have already submitted my proposal to melange. I am experienced in C/C++ programming languages, as I was interested in systems programming from the beginning of my college days. I am quite proficient in python and have developed many small utilities in it for fun. I am also an ardent openSUSE fan. I was looking for a chance to start hacking into its code and try to improve it or develop applications for it, and GSoC provided the perfect opportunity for me! I look forward to the day when the majority of the code in the OS will have atleast some contributions of mine. For this project, I have an idea to develop an application, which will aid in LVM extension and make life of users more easy. More details are on the melange site proposal : http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/proposal/review/google/gsoc2012/praful/1 I have been in constant contact with my mentor, Petr Uzel, and with his help, have modified the original proposal idea greatly to reflect the ease of use for the users, a wider area of application, and the (possible) future integration into the OS itself. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Thanks!
