End of the Year 2020 Survey: Thanks for your patience, we are ironing out the bugs

Dear all, I'd like to apologize for the typos and bugs spoiling the recently released "End of the Year 2020 survey". I alone am responsible for them, as the non-volunteer part of me was busy with urgent things that prevented me from honoring our "cooperative time window" for doing the required proofing. I am hopeful we will be able to iron things out in the next few hours. I will get back to you when things are back to normal. Thanks for your patience! Best, Adrien

Dear all, The End of the Year 2020 Survey has been fixed and waiting for your inputs. If you have taken it already and have the courage and forgiveness, you can take it again, but we sure won't blame you if you don't. 90% of the answers should still be valid and we will work out a way of handling the 10% remaining. Have a nice day and see you later, Adrien

In case others had a hard time finding it like I did for some reason: https://survey.opensuse.org/index.php/927318?lang=en ab On Sat, Dec 19, 2020 at 2:29 AM Adrien Glauser <adrien.glauser@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks for the link, Aaron - as it was missing in the last announcement (19.12.20 10:29) I had the feeling it was not set live so far.... Cheers Axel

Thanks for posting that! Jason

Thanks for posting that here Aaron, and I am somewhat disappointed that posting to the official news channel (https://news.opensuse.org/2020/12/19/introducing-the-opensuse-2020-end-of-ye...) as well as: - the forums; - the oppenSUSE subreddit; - the Telegram group chat; - the Discord server still makes for a hard time discovering the survey.

Looks like you hit all media where I look into only from time to time (forums) or not subscribed to (the rest). Didnt see it on Twitter either... Cheers Axel

Well, there is also this too I forgot to mention on my list: https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/announce@lists.opensuse.org/thread/... If openSUSE has a long-standing communication issue, I think we should state it loudly and clearly, before it goes under the radar again.

Well, I don't read any of those. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

I have to admit not reading/following any of those, but I do read announcements.lists where you also posted, and from there it was easy to find. https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/announce@lists.opensuse.org/thread/... Even without that, one could also go straight to https://survey.opensuse.org and pick from all the open surveys. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (-2.4°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes

Indeed. Perhaps there's some room for automation here, like a bot forwarding announcement posts from news.opensuse.org to: - the announcement mailing list - https://www.reddit.com/r/openSUSE/ news.opensuse.org already forwards to https://t.me/opensusenews & https://discord.com/channels/366985425371398146/376527321869451271, and I think the IRC are covered already via bridging. That means only the forums would require some manual intervention.

How can I ever thank you? Sent from my iPhone
