A lot. We share a lot of Novell infrastructure and this is not likely to change for a while. This is a good thing mostly. Some infra is managed by SUSE folks in Nurenburg and some in Provo by Novell folks. The part that Novell handles frees up the SUSE folks to do other things. Hope that clarifies things. While I agree in general that "let others do the work" is a good method, we also have a problem with this: Sometimes they just don't do the work... (for whatever reason, probably lack of time or more important things to do) Just to name an example: we are waiting for a wiki update since months. (The MediaWiki version we currently use is out of maintenance, and I'm quite sure it has some known security issues that were fixed in later releases.) As I mentioned in another mail, I have some experience with MediaWiki and could probably do the update. Unfortunately it's impossible to get access to the servers in Provo, and doing MediaWiki updates without ssh access just sucks (for example I need to run the maintenance/update scripts and, if something doesn't work, read the error_log). Yes, you can read this as "give me a server with ssh access and I'll do the wiki maintenance". That would be easier and faster (and less frustrating) for me than reminding the Novell admins to do it :-/ Regards, Christian Boltz -- That depends. Opinions on this change about every week. During even weeks, the "kernel driver makes the device useful" approach is chosen. During odd weeks, the "we need userspace crap like usb_modeswitch to make the device useful" approach is chosen. Yes, this should be fixed. However, I have no idea how to go about it. I'd say contact the site admin and find out how to update "old" data. Once you have the information on how to get their data changes get a hold of me and I'll help you find the new information. Probably just need to update the DNS contact information for the domains. I'd be very surprised if Alexa (or whomever else has that information) maintains their own database of information for those fields. I'd say that someone that handles such stuff at SUSE should take care of that as someone in official capacity has to contact MarkMonitor and see how to transfer registration to SUSE. That will take care of other places, like Alexa, that are using Whois DB to retrieve owner info. The same problem is with any other domain name: opensuse.org suse.com suse.de susestudio.com As Peter mentioned, it can be not so easy fix all that. Official Novell contact, listed by whois, may have more information. -- Regards, Rajko. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
