I think you understand the sentiment - call it "Encourage to participate by validating their choice of desktop and giving them greater identification with openSUSE".
I do - so let's not confuse things. Our users and contributors are "empowered" now. I see no reason to *invalidate our GNOME users choice of desktop and *discourage their participation. I'm sure you mean the best here Will, by wanting to send a pro-KDE signal - but at the same time, it's an anti-GNOME signal, and I really don't think that fits well.
